The Gebrüder Weiss is establishing a regional network

In the beginning the site of Hajdúböszörmény is going to have the task of optimising the company’s internal processes of flow of goods. The site may soon grow into a regional centre featuring its own management, clientele and international collection turnover. With the new site the GW is establishing new workplaces in the disadvantaged Northern region. At the three sites of GW Hungary – at Dunaharaszti, Vecsés and within a few days at Hajdúböszörmény, too – there are almost 250 highly trained professionals dealing with the fulfilment of the clients’ complex logistics solutions and requirements. By opening the new site the Hungarian warehouse area in Hungary is going to reach 23,500 sqm.
Even from the opening moments the new terminal is operating with the usual top-quality IT solutions that can be expected from the GW. Besides the warehouse’s barcode handling the drivers are using mobile barcode-readers featuring GPRS connection during the forwarding. Due to the system – among others – the exact time and the name of the receiving party can be seen within a few seconds on the Internet therefore the clients may monitor online the route of their consignments. Through the cost-saving effect of the comprehensive logistics solutions the GW is offering competitive advantage to its clients since besides the required know-how the company has also proper connections and site-network for developing and realising the special solutions.
By opening the new site – besides increasing the level of the logistics services – the Hungarian GW subsidiary may get closer to its East-Hungarian clientele of strategic importance. The Hajdúböszörmény terminal is the first stop aiming at improving the GW’s regional network, and in the future several more branches can be expected in the country-side.
